MS, Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern
Maria Dillard
Specialties: Adolescents, Trauma, Military, ADHD
Hi, my name is Maria, and I have been on this journey of becoming a mental health counselor since I was a teenager. As a teen sitting across from various therapists, I knew there was a need for compassionate mental health professionals. I earned my Bachelor's in Psychology from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs, before enlisting in the Air Force. The stigma of mental healthcare in the military reignited my passion for mental health for military members and civilians. After separating from the Air Force, I returned to school for my Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
I am trained and have experience with Accelerated Resolution Therapy (ART), Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Managing Emotional States Effectively (MESE), Trust Based Relational Intervention (TBRI), play-informed therapy, and art-informed therapy. I also completed training in the Gottman Method (level 1.) Each session is tailored to meet your or your loved one's individual needs and goals toward growth and healing.
